Cheers to the New Year!

December 31, 2010

A little trend of non-new years resolutions have been circulating

some of my regular blogs this week.

Check them out:  Erin Loechner of Design for Mankind, Anne Sage of City Sage, Bri Emery of Design Love Fest and Crytal Gentilello of Plush Palate

Here are my non-resolution/things to do in 2011

In 2010 you traveled to lots of new places, Sundance and Atlanta, to name a few. Keep going! Explore the places that never made the top 10 list. Don’t be ashamed to revisit the cities that are near and dear. I’m coming for you, Chicago!

In 2011 explore more of the wonderful state of California.  In a few  hours drive you can be snow, dessert or forest. How have you not taken more advantage of it yet?

In 2010 you quit your part-time coffee job, got a ‘real’ job and came to terms that you really do want to be an interior designer/ stylist for the long run. It took a lot of exploration  but you are on the right track!

In 2011 take even bigger steps to get what you want! Know with confidence your creativity will get you to your dream.  Embrace every inspiration and follow them through to the end.

In 2010 you stepped out of your comfort zone, spoke up and made a lot of amazing new friends. It wasn’t always easy in the courting process but you learned not to take things personally. It’s amazing to  have more friends who love design as much as you!

In 2011 don’t forget about friends near and dear from  your past. Make more of an effort to call, next or postcard to let them know the distance of states means nothing.

In 2010 you were a spectator of the blog/lifestyle world and saw a supportive network of like minded people. To end your envy you started a blog yourself.

In 2011 be apart of the conversation! You have only been going at it for a few months but the feedback and support will see you though this next year. Be genuine and put everything you have into it. There is nothing to lose but a whole lot to gain!

Yay! I love these! A special congrats on quitting your coffee job to embark on the design path you were meant for and for starting a blog!

Best of luck to you in the new year…I’m sure you’ll keep doing all the right things 🙂
